Economic Development Update

DFW gained 9,500 jobs in August, bringing total employment to 4.3 million, driven by growth in the government sector. Unemployment rose to 4.4% as job postings fell 13.5%. Bus driver openings surged, while police officer postings saw the steepest decline. Read the latest DFW Labor Market Update for more information.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Silver Line will officially launch Saturday, October 25 with a day full of festivities and free rides through November 8. UT Dallas is one of ten stops on the 26-mile commuter rail linking northeast Plano to DFW International Airport.
