This month’s issue of The Connection takes a close look at the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). Between July 2024 and July 2025, prices in DFW rose slightly overall, with food costs going up and energy prices falling. During the same period, employment increased by 0.9%, while the unemployment rate declined from 4.2% to 4.0%. |

Nucleate, a student-run nonprofit organization that facilitates the formation of new life science ventures, is accepting applications for its next Activator program through October 25. Activator is the largest scientist-led biotech accelerator supporting ventures at the intersection of human and planetary health. The program is ideal for students working on innovations in therapeutics, diagnostics, medtech, synthetic biology, or tackling challenges in food, energy, agriculture or consumer products, as well as those interested in launching a biotech or sustainability-focused startup. |
