Economic Development Update

February 9, 2022

The DFW Metroplex experienced a net gain of 13,900 jobs in December for a total count of roughly 3,952,000 jobs in the region. While December has had noticeably slower job growth and posting activity than previous months, the trends are still moving the region in an overall positive direction.

Last week, UT Dallas was recognized as a Center of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries. With this designation, our actuarial program joins the ranks of 19 other elite programs in the United States and the first institution in Texas and the Southwest to earn this distinction.
