Distribution of DFW Employment by Industry

Total employment in the Dallas-Fort Worth region increased 75% from 1990 to 2018. Find out which industries experienced the most pronounced changes in our latest article.

For a more detailed breakdown of DFW employment by industry, check out our new interactive table.

Our division works diligently to provide valuable data and resources to our internal and external economic development partners. Here are recent examples of how we have responded to data requests from our partners:

School of Arts, Technology and Emerging Communication
  • In order to support their case for an IT and cybersecurity company considering the North Texas area, an economic development organization contacted our team about IT and cybersecurity talent coming out of UT Dallas. We responded with an enrollment breakdown of students currently enrolled in specific programs related to IT and cybersecurity.
  • Our team worked with staff in the School of Arts, Technology and Emerging Communication (ATEC) to identify top employers and occupations for ATEC graduates.

We are happy to fulfill customized data requests for our North Texas economic development partners and to connect your organization with resources and contacts at UT Dallas that could lead to mutual economic development partnerships.

Please reach out to F&ED to learn how your organization can partner with UT Dallas.
