Economic Development Update

DFW’s top 15 cities show varying levels of reliance on property taxes, both in terms of their share of total city revenue and the assessed property tax values. Differences in industry mix, tax base composition, and home values contribute to these variations across the region.

UT Dallas has purchased 17787 Waterview Parkway — a 151,000-square-foot office building in Dallas across the street from its campus — to support its ongoing operations. The building has been vacant since late 2024. UT Dallas will complete a renovation of the property before moving in.
