Economic Development Update

DFW’s 2023 GDP soared to $744 billion, demonstrating robust economic expansion and surpassing the GDP of most nations. This month’s Connection article highlights DFW’s significant economic influence in the state and national GDP. Many DFW industries are highly concentrated and offer above-average US earnings, signaling a strong job market.

Lennox International Inc., a manufacturer of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration equipment, will develop a 45,000-square-foot R&D center at its corporate headquarters in Richardson near the UT Dallas campus. The Innovation Center will be used to test, develop and design new equipment for the company’s Building Climate Solutions

segment and will serve as a technology hub for collaboration between its product development, engineering and marketing teams. The center is expected to create about 45 technical jobs.
