From November to December 2024, the DFW labor market gained 6,000 jobs (net), although total job postings saw a month-over-month decrease of 1.8%. The top posted jobs in the region were Registered Nurse and Software Developer. The local unemployment rate declined in December from 4% to 3.5%. Last week officials from UT Dallas and the City of Richardson cut the ribbon on the Comets LANding Gaming & Esports Center, a 15,000-gross-square-foot facility that has become the new hub for gaming-related programs on campus. The grand opening was celebrated with samples from the in-house “Buffalo Wild Wings Go” dining venue, and an exhibition tournament between UTD’s varsity esports team and the UNT Trailblazers. |

The 2025 UT Dallas Scholarship Golf Tournament, “Par for a Purpose”, will be on April 24 at Firewheel Golf Park. This annual event organized by the Office of Facilities & Economic Development helps raise scholarships funds for students attending UT Dallas. Last year the tournament raised $213,102. Business and community partners can sign up to play in the tournament, support the event through sponsorship, or donate items for the Silent Auction. |
