Posted September 4, 2023

A group of people pose for a photo on the UT Dallas campus in front of a sign that reads “UTD, The University of Texas at Dallas, Herbert D. Weitzman Institute for Real Estate”. Among the group are people who hold the flags of the US, Taiwan, and Japan, as well as a banner that reads “TAC Brokerage and Consultant LLC, Carole C. Tam, CCIM”.

Jenny Mizutowicz (second from left), director of Economic Development and Sustainability Liaison, and Dr. Calvin D. Jamison (back row, center), vice president for Facilities & Economic Development, stop by the Naveen Jindal School of Management with a group visitors from Taiwan and Japan as they tour The University of Texas at Dallas.

The University of Texas at Dallas was one of the stops on the North Texas leg of the recent “Best of Texas” bus tour. This annual tour is an opportunity for foreign business people to discover the benefits of investing in our state and forming local partnerships. The visit to UT Dallas allowed Jenny Mizutowicz, director of Economic Development and Sustainability Liaison, and Dr. Calvin D. Jamison, vice president for Facilities & Economic Development, to explain how the University contributes to our region’s workforce, economy and technical innovation. This year’s visitors, from Taiwan and Japan, were able to tour an important part of the educational pipeline that cultivates talented STEAMM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Management] graduates who stay to work in the region, as well as see how this research university serves as a resource for local industry.
