Economic Development Update

Economically, the metroplex has beat last year’s employment trends. DFW started the year off with 74,600 more jobs than in January of 2023. Furthermore, recent data points toward an overall decrease in price changes since November of 2023.

Sysgration, a Taiwanese manufacturing company, is setting up its first U.S. facility in Plano. The company is expected to spend $16 million on renovating a 98,000-square-foot complex in the city’s research and technology district to house the facility. Once fully operational, it is expected to bring over 150 jobs to the area.

Bell Textron, a global leader in aviation systems, is planning on investing $157 million in Alliance, TX (north of Fort Worth) to establish a new advanced manufacturing facility. The company says it will commit to creating dozens of jobs with a $429 million capital investment if the project is approved by the state.

Notes Live, a Colorado-based hospitality and entertainment company, is planning to invest $200 million to build one of the world’s largest amphitheaters, with the capacity to seat up to 20,000 people, in McKinney. The Sunset Amphitheater will host music concerts and other events for the entire DFW region when completed. The project is estimated to create over 1,300 jobs and is set to begin construction in late 2024.
