Economic Development Update

December 13, 2023

This month’s DFW Labor Market Update explores some of the major developments in the local economy as we entered the last quarter of 2023. Driven by a demand for new workers in government and retail following the start of a new federal fiscal year and the start of holiday shopping, employment figures were largely up and the unemployment rate was on the decline.

Infosys and Spirit AeroSystems launched their dedicated center for aerospace engineering excellence in Richardson last month. The move will enable both companies to work together in order to develop cross-functional solutions to issues in the development lifecycle of their aircrafts. The new center will facilitate training, upskilling and the reskilling of talent to support Spirit AeroSystems’s growing business.
