Predicted Computer Occupation Job Growth

The Dallas-Fort Worth region is expected to create about 31 thousand new computer occupations jobs between 2019 and 2029. Read our latest issue of The Connection for a closer look at the projected jobs growth and how UT Dallas academic programs are preparing students.

Our division works diligently to provide valuable data and resources internally and externally. Here are examples of how we have helped our economic development partners so far this year:

  • We provided the Office of Development and Alumni Relations with reports on a specific employer’s national talent profile, including UT Dallas alumni, to help them understand the number of UT Dallas alums employed across the company, the program areas they graduated from, and job titles.
  • A local economic development organization reached out to us to provide workforce availability and security clearance data for selected engineering occupations as part of their efforts to attract an aerospace company to their community. We are also working with this organization to propose a partnership between the prospective company and UT Dallas.
  • To help prepare one of our colleagues in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science and a local economic development agency for a call with an engineering company considering relocating to North Texas, we provided graduate retention data for Dallas-Fort Worth and competing metros.

We are happy to fulfill customized data requests for our North Texas economic development partners and to connect your organization with resources and contacts at UT Dallas that could lead to mutual economic development partnerships.

Please reach out to F&ED to learn how your organization can partner with UT Dallas.
