Economic Development Update

Our division works diligently to provide valuable data and resources to our internal and external economic development partners. Here are recent examples of how we have helped our economic development partners:

• A local economic development organization that is recruiting a wind energy company to their community reached out to us about potential ways we could partner with the company, and thereby strengthen the community’s chances for landing the company. We connected the prospective company with the head of our mechanical engineering program who leads the Center for Wind Energy at UT Dallas and made introductions to other meaningful partners in North Texas.
• Our team helped a local economic development organization that is undergoing a transition update their community’s workforce data, including their most recent unemployment rate and population estimates.
• We helped a local economic development organization update their website’s workforce information page, including labor force information and average salaries in North Texas.

We are happy to fulfill customized data requests for our North Texas economic development partners and to connect your organization with resources and contacts at UT Dallas that could lead to mutual economic development partnerships.
