Economic Development Update

The DFW labor market remained resilient in April 2026, adding 11,900 jobs while unemployment edged lower. Although overall job postings declined, demand for high-skill occupations continued to support labor market activity. See the latest DFW Labor Market Update for more details.

Director of Economic Development Jenny Mizutowicz is representing UT Dallas at the BIO International Convention in San Diego, California this week. She is part of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s delegation promoting the North Texas region as an emerging hub for life science and biotech companies. Jenny is highlighting UT Dallas’ bioengineering program and sharing how the University can support life science companies’ workforce needs and offer innovative R&D partnerships.
