DFW gained 6,600 jobs in February 2026, while unemployment declined slightly and job postings increased 2.4 percent. Registered nurses and police and sheriff’s patrol occupations saw strong gains, while inflation continued to rise across regions. Swiss pharma giant Novartis broke ground on a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Denton on May 7. The 20-acre site at 2101 Shady Oaks Drive has been nonoperational since 2009 but will now be Novartis’ fifth site in the U.S. making radioligand therapy, a custom cancer treatment using targeted radiation. Novartis’ expansion into the North Texas market is further evidence that North Texas is a burgeoning market for life science companies.
