Economic Development Update

DFW Airport contributes more than $78 billion annually to the regional economy based on 2024 fiscal activity. In 2025, it handled 85.6 million passengers and 858,329 U.S. tons of cargo, reinforcing its role as a key hub for transportation, trade, and global connectivity in North Texas. Micron Foundation is putting $96,500 behind a two-year push to expand STEM learning in Richardson ISD, starting in elementary school. The grant funds no-cost afterschool programming, modern STEM labs, and teacher training across the district, with a focus on robotics, coding, digital media, and AI-ready tools. The goal is a pipeline that connects early skills to advanced coursework in junior high, high school, and beyond. Micron Technology is located in the Richardson IQ.
