Economic Development Update

DFW added 10,000 jobs from October to November 2025, bringing unemployment down to 4.0% even as job postings declined 14.1%. Demand rose significantly for dentists and other specialists, while sales and related workers saw the largest drop in job postings. After nearly 19 years at UT Dallas, Vice President for Facilities and Economic Development Calvin D. Jamison will be retiring in May. Dr. Jamison oversaw the dramatic transformation of campus during his tenure, including nearly $4 billion in development, the addition of 37 new buildings, and 8,000 new trees.

Registration is open for the 32nd annual UT Dallas Scholarship Golf Tournament. This year’s event is on May 1 at Firewheel Golf Park. Event proceeds support University scholarships. Learn more about the event and register as a player and/or sponsor on the tournament website.
