Governor Appoints Dr. Victor Fishman to Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee

Victor Fishman, executive director of the Texas Research Alliance and member of our Economic Development Advisory Committee, has been appointed by the governor as one of the five members of the Texas Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee. This committee is one component of an initiative that includes grants, strategic planning and workforce training, all designed to make Texas a leader in emerging quantum technologies such as quantum computing, networking and materials. Dr. Fishman brings a wealth of experience to the appointment, including his work as associate vice president for Applied Research at UT Dallas.

The UTD Economic Development Advisory Committee was created to support the University’s strategic initiative of serving as an “economic engine” for the region. The committee supports this initiative by leveraging its networks and offering feedback and guidance based on its members’ economic development expertise.
